Our Strip Disc employs a combination of silicon carbide mineral and non-woven nylon fibres bonded with resin. Silicon carbide is a highly abrasive synthetic mineral commonly used in low-pressure applications like paint preparation. The resin bond strengthens the disc and gradually breaks down, revealing new fibres and sharp mineral, delivering a consistent cut over the life of the abrasive.

The thick, open web structure is formed by the integration of fibre strands, resin, and abrasive mineral. The spring-like nature of the fibres allows them to respond to contours, effectively removing unwanted burrs, soils, and contaminants while maintaining the workpiece geometry, which in turn reduces rework and boosts productivity. The gaps in the web enable swarf to escape, enhancing the abrasive's ability to withstand loading and prolonging its service life by preventing clogging.

The reengineered fibre in the Strip Disc allows operators to take advantage of increased conformability without compromising strength. This enhanced conformability enables a larger contact area with the workpiece for faster removal rates. The disc can also conform to weld bead ripples, polishing welds without removing them, and can work in hard-to-reach areas without damaging the substrate.

In addition to high conformability, the Strip Disc offers low vibration, decreased chunking, low spark, a high speed rating, and long life, providing users with a reliable and efficient solution. The Strip Disc is available in 4-inch size with a 5/8-inch aperture and a maximum RPM of 11,000. The disc features a black, purple, and blue nylon webbing, with the blue and purple variants being more wear-resistant and efficient for tackling stubborn old paint and hard rust.

When using the Strip Disc, it is essential to wear a mask to prevent dust inhalation and gloves for safety. The product should be used at or below the recommended 11,000 RPM, and only light contact with the surface is required, as the disc will effectively remove the rust without the need for excessive pressure.
